1. Selecting an Auspicious Time:-


Choosing the right date and time is essential for Bhairav Havan. Ashtami Tithi, Kaal Bhairav Ashtami, or performing it on Tuesdays and Sundays is considered highly auspicious.


2. Required Materials:-


  • Idol or image of Lord Bhairav

  • Black sesame seeds and mustard seeds

  • Black sesame, jaggery, and coconut

  • Mango wood and havan kund

  • Panchmeva and camphor

  • Mustard oil and lamp

  • Bhairav Mantra book or written verses


3. Havan Procedure:-


  1. Take a bath and wear clean clothes.

  2. Clean the puja area and place the idol or image of Lord Bhairav.

  3. Perform Panchopchar Puja (incense, lamp, flowers, food offering, and sacred rice).

  4. Light the fire in the havan kund using mango wood and havan ingredients.

  5. Chant the mantra “Om Bhairavaya Namah” 108 times.

  6. Offer havan materials into the fire while chanting the Bhairav Beej Mantra “Om Bhram Bhairavaya Namah”.

  7. Conclude by reciting Bhairav Chalisa and completing the havan.


Post-Havan Guidelines:-


  • Distribute the prasad after completing the havan.

  • Visit a Bhairav temple for darshan.

  • Chant “Om Bhairavaya Namah” daily.

  • Feeding black dogs on Tuesdays and Saturdays is considered auspicious.
